Ben Sharples is a master teacher. He has an incredible knowledge and command of the game of tennis, and guides his students with a specific, intuitive approach. I came to Ben with a fairly strong game (I played competitively as a teenager) and he swiftly took it to a whole other level. He strengthened my ground strokes, taught me a very strong, effective approach shot, built my confidence at the net and gave me a very powerful first serve (finally after 30 years!) He’s greatly helped my mental game on the court, as well. Ben’s lessons are fun – he is a joy to work with and his positive energy keeps me pumped throughout my matches during the week. I highly recommend taking lessons with Ben.

I’m very glad that I have been taking tennis lessons from Ben Sharples for more than a year now. His biggest strength as an instructor is that he is able to quickly pinpoint what I am doing wrong, or what I need to do differently in order to be effective. Many times, one little change in my technique would make all the difference between hitting well or hitting poorly, and Ben always seemed to zero in on what needed to be tweaked to improve my game. In addition to being very knowledgeable and observant, he is also both kind and patient, which makes him very easy to work with. Thanks to Ben, my tennis game has improved quite dramatically.

I have been taking lessons from Ben for the past year and a half and have thoroughly enjoyed myself. I think Ben has a very keen eye for watching my technique and quickly and precisely pinpointing exactly where I am going wrong and then offering the perfect solution to correct it. I have been shocked with the amount I have improved while taking his lessons. His greatest attribute is that he is an unbelievably nice guy with a ton of patience who makes the experience of learning so much fun.

As a player looking to improve the consistency and effectiveness of my shots, I have benefited greatly from lessons with Ben. While tennis instruction can sometimes get mired in complex and confusing language, Ben has a really clear and intuitive way of getting his point across. It’s amazing to see how big a difference just a few words can make to your game. He’s put my serve on track to becoming a weapon instead of a liability; pushed me to learn a proper backhand slice; and added great confidence to my forehand. And beyond all the technique, which Ben knows inside and out, the greatest thing is that he genuinely seems committed to helping you improve—and that’s not something you find everyday.

Thanks for everything,

Nathan Cooper
